How do I use Virtual Urgent Care?
Call (661) 616-9493 and our friendly BFMC staff will help you download the ZOOM Cloud Meetings app on your web-enabled device (smart phone, tablet or computer). This will allow you to videoconference with our Urgent Care provider and sign your consent forms electronically. Once your consent forms are signed, you will receive an appointment time, which is typically within one hour of your initial call.
What has been the feedback regarding the new Virtual Urgent Care?
Feedback has been very positive! A wide variety of BFMC/HPN members are using the new Virtual Urgent Care service as it provides such convenience. Parents with sick children can call from home and have them seen without having to leave the house. Prescriptions can be sent to your preferred pharmacy. Members have used the service while traveling out of area and have been able to avoid going to the nearest Emergency Room. Finally, BFMC/HPN members living in the more remote areas of Kern County have found this service to be invaluable; instead of waiting in emergency rooms or a long drive into Bakersfield, all you have to do is pick up the phone!
