Important Contracting Notice for Anthem Medicare Advantage Members

Your current medical group, Bakersfield Family Medical Group (BFMG), affiliated with Heritage Provider Network (HPN) would like to inform you of an important change that may affect your healthcare coverage. HPN/BFMG received a termination notice from your Medicare Advantage health insurance provider, Anthem Blue Cross, effective March 31, 2026. This means that starting on April 1, 2026, BFMG will no longer be able to provide care to you under Anthem, unless Anthem reaches an agreement with HPN prior to April 1. While both organizations continue to negotiate with the intent of reaching an agreement, we want to make sure you are aware of the potential disruption to receiving care from us and other contracted specialists that you may see.
